GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS                                                                                                                                                   

Strings Festival on Tuesday, 21 October. The Orchestra members will be performing and out of regular classes all day. Here is the list of orchestra members.

Math League: Its math league time again!  First contest is on Tuesday, 21 October - 12:35 in room B3. Pizza will be provided for lunch after the contest. Everyone welcome! Please sign up at ml.graded.br (You must sign up to participate!)

PTA HS Parent Coffee at 08:15 on Friday, 24 OctoberFormer Provost for Undergraduate Admissions at the University of Notre Dame, Dan Saracino will provide suggestions on what we as parents can do to assist our children in developing their individual talents and preparing for the best colleges for them.

FALA Market Place is asking for donations of clothes, shoes, house holding items, anything that you don't use anymore and could be sold in the Market Place. Donations can be taken to Ana Cris' office (behind MS D5).

Freedom from Chemical Dependency (FCD):  Two Prevention Specialists from FCD Educational Services will meet with High School students, faculty and parents from October 29 to October 31. FCD is a non-profit organization that provides substance abuse prevention education for schools. Since 1976, they have taught over a million students of all ages. Here is a detailed schedule of their visit.

PTA Halloween Benefit Parade on Friday, 31 October. The HS and MS will run Blocks 7, 8, 5, Lunch, 6 followed by FLEX at the end of the day so students and teachers can participate in the parade. The parade will be followed by the Annual Halloween Bash.

GEE Candy Grams: GEE’s annual Halloween Candy Grams are coming. Purchase candies (Oct 20-28), address a recipient, and write a message for him or her. You can be completely anonymous if you wish to. Then, your gift will be sent to you recipient (Oct 30-31). GEE will be selling at the Student Center during break hours.

Zombie Zoo Sign up: This semester's Zombie Zoo will take place on November 7th (Friday) at 17:00 in the Student Center. Do you play an instrument? Are you a magician? Can you rap? All talents are welcome. If you'd like to sign up to perform, follow the link
*Zombie Zoo is a biannual student led concert that serves as a fundraiser for community service activities at Graded.

PTA Thanksgiving Celebration on Saturday, 22 November  - a great CAS opportunity
The Thanksgiving Celebration at Graded is one of the great traditions at our school. In order to make it a success, we require students to volunteer to work in the cafeteria. The work shifts will be one and a half hours long beginning at 11:00 and ending at 15:30. If you volunteer, the price of the lunch ticket will be reduced to R$20. If you are a Diploma student you may also receive CAS credit for your contribution to this community event. (See Mr. Amaral). Please sign up here to participate in this wonderful community event (sign up until Nov. 20, on first come first serve basis).
