AMIS Honor Jazz Band
The event Luis Wolfrid will be attending in the Netherlands is the AMIS Honor Jazz Band. The AMIS Honor Jazz Band is comprised of the very finest jazz players from international schools worldwide. Luis will be one of only 30 students selected, and he and the others will convene for the first time on Thursday morning, Oct 1, and rehearse intensively for two and a half days before performing on Saturday night.


Banned Books Week is this week, September 27 - October 3. Young Adult books are challenged more frequently than any other type of book. Banned Books Week is a call to action, to remind everyone that young people need to be allowed the freedom to read widely, to read books that are relevant for them, and to be able to make their own reading choices. Stop by the Upper School Library and check out the books on display . . . you might be surprised by which titles and authors have been most often challenged. Celebrate the freedom to read!

Gr11 IB Visual Arts Trip:  Students will be visiting OCA on Monday 28th September from 9:45am. For further information contact Ms. Amanda York

Special Dance Workshop for HS students:
When: Monday Sept 28th, from 3:15-4:10
Where: ART GALLERY (2nd floor Art Centre).
Who: Anyone can come!
Wendy Jehlen, who is a professional dancer and director of the ANIKAYA
Dance Theatre group from the USA, will be having a special movement
workshop open to any High School student.
You just need to be wearing comfortable clothing.  Running shoes are not
required.  No dance experience is necessary.  All you need is the spirit to have fun!

PTA Coffee- Analogue Parents- Digital Children: On Tuesday, September 29th at 8:30 am, the PTA will have guest speaker Dra. Alessandra Borelli, CEO of Nethics Digital Education (www.nethicsedu.com.br), talking to parents about relevant aspects of the digital education of our children. This will take place in the auditorium.

Community Service Leaders Meeting: This will take place on Thursday 1st October at 1:15pm in A21/A22

The Graded Writing Center is a resource to help all students at any stage of the writing process. (Note: We cannot assist with certain IB assessments.) You can sign up for 20-minute slots outside the new office located in A2.
