GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS


Welcome back from Carnival week! I hope we all had a wonderful break.

Did you pick up a copy of the TALON yet? A big thank you to the TALON team for the interesting articles on the "Me Generation".

DP Update:
Extended Essay Juniors: Please be sure to plan a meeting with your EE advisor immediately regarding your detailed outlines if you did not speak with them before Carnival
CAS juniors and seniors, Group 2: Please be sure to attend this week's CAS meetings, since you might not meet for another month!

PGC Test Drive: The PGC Test Drive will begin in the Teacher's Cafeteria at 3:30pm on Monday 15th February.

Blood Drive Reminder: The Blood Drive will be taking place on Monday February 15th and Tuesday February 16th in E-12 here on campus from 9am to 4:30pm. All students above the age of 16 and weigh more than 50kg are encouraged to donate. Band Trip: Taking place from 18th to 21st February. Senior Band and Jazz Band students will be performing in Curitiba and FlorianopolisThere will be a mandatory pre-trip meeting on Monday, February 15 in the band room, starting at 7:00 pm. It is expected that each student and at least one parent will attend this important information meeting.

Community Service leaders Meeting: This will take place on Tuesday 16th February at 1:15pm in A21/22. All leaders are required to attend.

Yearbook MUN Picture: 3:25pm on Tuesday (meet by the Bell)  
Please come if you have participated in MUN activities at any point this year. 

Alumni Career Survey: In April we will hold Alumni Career Panels for HS Students. We would like you all to fill out a quick survey about your career interests. The more responses we have, the greater variety we can provide.

Writing Center:
The Graded Writing Center is a resource to help all students at any stage of the writing process. (Note: We cannot assist with certain IB assessments.) You can sign up for 15/20-minute slots outside the office located in A2. 
The current available hours are as follows:
Day A Block 3
Day B Block 8
Day C Block 1 
Day D Block 6 
Monday & Tuesday after school (3:15-4) 
Monday & Friday Flex (1:15-1:45)

Lost and Found: We have an increasing number of items in "Lost and Found". If you have lost something please check with the HS office.

Daylight Saving Time ends -Sunday 21st February: Turn your clocks back by one hour.

Photo retakes/first time: LES Fotografias will be on campus on Monday, February 22 and Tuesday, February 23 for photo re-takes from 9am to 4pm in front of the main entrance of the auditorium. If you are a new student or weren't able to take your photo last semester, or would like to have another photo taken, please fill this form in.

REMINDER (S) OF THE WEEK
 
Litter: There seems to be more rubbish around the snack bar and senior lawn. Please use the trash bins to dispose of litter.

FLEX time: Students who have a free block after lunch are reminded that they may be permitted to leave school at the time of the free block and not during FLEX time.  Refer to HS Handbook: Students are required to be in school during FLEX even if seniors or juniors have a free block during fourth block. Failure to follow this request will lead to students losing the privilege of signing out.
