Jazz Festival: The Graded Jazz Festival will take place from 25th to 27th February. It will take place at 3:30 on Thursday in the Bandroom. It is a special event that we have hosted here for the past 14 years; we bring in professional jazz educators from the US and utilize widely acclaimed local jazz players as well. Over the course of three days these experts work closely with our students, as well as with some from Brasilia and Caracas, teaching them the finer aspects of playing their instruments and helping them to better understand the jazz idiom. It is an incredible experience, and it is open to all qualified Graded music students. While some of the allocated time will be devoted specifically to jazz ensemble rehearsals, there will also be extensive offerings of instrument master classes, improvisation workshops, and music theory clinics, all of which are applicable for anyone with a basic level of musical skill and an enthusiasm to learn more about this wonderful art form. Further information click here
