GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS


We would like to thank the parents and students for attending the PGC night last Monday night. Despite the rain and the traffic, we had a very successful turnout of people come to this event.

Pi Day: March 14th is Pi Day (courtesy of the Mathematics Department). Get your apple pies at lunch time!

IB Mock Exams This Week- Good luck Seniors! These will be held from the 14th to the 18th March Information for parents about the IB Mock Exams (seniors)
LUNCH FOR SENIORS: Seniors will have lunch between 11:30 and 12:15. There will be cards on the tables to identify where students can sit.

AMIS Honor Band and Orchestra: Our students will be performing in Doha this week (16th- 20th March).

GAA Bake Sale: GAA will behaving a bake sale on Tuesday and Wednesday during lunch outside the cafeteria.

Senior Bake Sale:  Seniors will have a bake sale on Friday outside the library during break, lunch and after school.

StuCo is coming... Do you want to improve community spirit at Graded? Do you have what it takes to be a leader? Then maybe you should stand for a position on the HS Student Council.
The following positions are up for election:

All nominations need to be in by Monday 4th April. No late entries will be accepted.
On Monday 11th April successful nominees will be informed to start campaigning.

On Tuesday 17th May StuCo candidates will present their speeches in the HS assembly.
Ballot forms for voting will be sent to HS students electronically after all speeches have been made.
Voting will close on Monday 23rd May.
By Monday 30th May the Administration will announce the winners of the StuCo positions.

Go Green Announcement: Service Learning Groups are working with Unimed to collect can tabs like the ones on Coke cans. We will have a bottle by the snack bar to collect can tabs in HS. There will be one plastic bottle for each grade, and the grade that collects the most can tabs will be rewarded with ice cream.

Running for Literacy (Marathon fundraiser): Are you aware that Brazil has a significantly large inequality gap in terms of education standards across the nation? Approximately 18 million people of the ages of 15+ fall under category of illiterate? What if I told you, you could help? "Run" for change you wish to see in the world! Participate in Lê Comigo's fundraising marathon April 24th, 2016. Help Lê Comigo by finding sponsors who would benefactor your effort and sweat for participating and running 3.2km, 8km, 24km, or 42km in an established international marathon here in São Paulo! More information will be released soon, but feel free to talk to Luuk K., or Miguel D., or Marcelo M., or Matías M. for more information.

Annual PROM: Save the date for Saturday 30th April at 8:30pm in the BBT. Tickets for the PROM will go out on Monday 21st March. Open to all juniors and seniors at the same price as last year R$120.00
Payments can be in cash or cheque.  No tickets will be sold at the door so hurry and get your tickets from any member of the PROM Committee.

Graded's Run against Cancer is taking place on Saturday 30th April from 10am to 1pm in Parque Burle Marx. If you would like to walk or run, please access this link.

Alumni Career Survey: In April we will hold Alumni Career Panels for HS Students. We would like you all to fill out a quick survey about your career interests. The more responses we have, the greater variety we can provide.

Writing Center:
The Graded Writing Center is a resource to help all students at any stage of the writing process. (Note: We cannot assist with certain IB assessments.) You can sign up for 15/20-minute slots outside the office located in A2.
