Earth Week Celebrations: Thursday April 22nd is known for being Earth Day and in order to celebrate, the Global Issues Network (GIN) group has planned different events for this week, which will be going on from Monday-Wednesday. GIN will be working with different grade levels in order to raise awareness and inform our community about global issues. We hope to share with our community a bit about our projects and how we can all contribute to helping the world we live in. Check out what is going on at Graded this Earth Week

Lights out: Tuesday April 19th is officially Lights Out Day at Graded in recognition of Earth Day! For the entire school day, our classes, activities, and breaks will take place without the use of overhead lighting. With this, we’ll see if the use of so many lights every day is really that necessary, while also saving energy while doing so! - GIN Environment Group.

STEM Projects: Graded's very first INNOVATION AND DESIGN SHOWCASE! During Tuesday's FLEX time, 11th- and 12th-grade students in our Introduction to Engineering Design course will be sharing their final design projects in the large corridor outside of the cafeteria and the ICT office. During this time, please stop by their tables to see the awesome ideas that your peers have developed over the last few months. From the need to collect energy when you're on the go to the need for educational equity across cultures and geography, these students have selected a topic that they are personally passionate about, studied it to understand the related problems and issues, and developed an innovative idea to respond to these problems. Come see how these Graded students are working to change the world, one Engineering solution at a time!

Student Visa Presentation: This will be held in the BBT on Tuesday 19th April at 3:15pm for seniors and their parents.

Arts Combined Rehearsal for MS and HS students is CANCELLED this Tuesday.

Shadow a student day on Wednesday: What's it like for a student to go through a school day? How can we empathize with students? Graded administrators and teachers in LS, MS and HS will be shadowing grade levels. Just like it sounds, the goal of shadowing a student is to understand more about the experience of students in our school by witnessing, firsthand, some of their learning experiences. For more information check out http://shadowastudent.org/

TALON NEEDS YOU: It is time to select the dedicated, intelligent, and creative group of students that will lead The Talon through its 16th year. Interested in joining the staff of sophomores, juniors, and seniors? Are you curious? Do you like to write? Can you keep deadlines? Read and complete this application carefully on or before Friday, April 29th, 16:00. (You will be evaluated in part by how well you follow these directions.)In addition to this application form, you must write one article (500-700 words) for possible publication in any of the site's sections, preferably the section in which you are most interested. See below for further information about sections. Email your article to talon@graded.br, with the subject line "Writing Application." If you are only interested in a non-writing position (layout, photographer, artist), fill out this application form and email examples of your artwork (instead of an article) to talon@graded.br, with the subject line "Art Application."
