GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS



HS MAP Testing continues: These tests will finish on Wednesday 27th April for most Grade 9 and 10 students.  If a student misses a MAP test we will have make ups on Thursday and Friday in SAS at 3:15pm in AC28. Students are required to bring their laptops at this time.

PROM 2016 is this SATURDAY: Save the date for Saturday 30th April at 8:30pm in the BBT. Tickets for the PROM are being sold by Gr11 students and at the HS Office.  Open to all juniors and seniors at the same price as last year R$120.00. No tickets will be sold at the door so hurry and get your tickets from any member of the PROM Committee. Tickets cost 130 per person.

Chamber Music Festival:  Graded's annual Chamber Music Festival will be taking place on Tuesday, April 26, with music department students presenting solo and small group performances during two separate recitals. Come hear our talented musicians present a variety of classical and popular music in an intimate small room setting. The afternoon program will start at 3:30, followed by an evening program at 7:30; both recitals will take place in the bandroom, and admission is free.

HS Mock trials- U.S. v. Dominique Stephens- Come watch this trial on Wednesday, April 27th 3:00pm-5:00pm in the Graded auditorium.
A woman admits to shooting and killing her husband and is charged with first degree murder.  She asserts that she acted in self-defense after suffering years of severe physical and emotional abuse.  Will she be found guilty?  Come to the trial and find out!

TALON NEEDS YOU: It is time to select the dedicated, intelligent, and creative group of students that will lead The Talon through its 16th year. Interested in joining the staff of sophomores, juniors, and seniors? Are you curious? Do you like to write? Can you keep deadlines? Read and complete this application carefully on or before Friday, April 29th, 16:00. (You will be evaluated in part by how well you follow these directions.) In addition to this application form, you must write one article (500-700 words) for possible publication in any of the site's sections, preferably the section in which you are most interested. See below for further information about sections. Email your article to talon@graded.br, with the subject line "Writing Application." If you are only interested in a non-writing position (layout, photographer, artist), fill out this application form and email examples of your artwork (instead of an article) to talon@graded.br, with the subject line "Art Application." IB Examinations:  This is the Seniors last week of classes. Check out their costumes this Senior Wacky Week.  Exams will begin on Friday 29th April. We wish all our seniors the best of luck in their forthcoming examinations.
Seniors: All library materials must be returned by May 20th and your account cleared.
